Just as a follow up, we have begun narrowing down the posts and will be recognizing bloggers for their efforts. -

I think we might consider doing what we can to help Heifers International. I'm a low income earner recovering from an accident and I felt embarrassed and sad that I didn't have any money that I could donate to their excellent pass on the gift programs.
Where I live I donate computer services, paintings, pottery and labor to feed and clothe the hungry. My husband and I also provide free caregiving services for kids in battered families going through transition. However, those kinds of donations aren't going to provide the monetary contributions that are required for the livestock donations and the agricultural training provided via Heifers.
I'm considering adding a paypal donation button to one of my blogs as a means of helping out. Have you tried this on a blog? If so, was it productive? -
I like timethief's idea about paypal. What would you think about an auction in which the proceeds are donated to this effort? There are so many talented people on BC. TT could auction one of her paintings, I have some antiques, others write cookbooks, and so on. I knew a fellow who went on a mission trip to Africa. When he came back he told us that people there needed goats. We did some research (with the help of his wife) and got a goat for one of the villages. Sometimes it is the simple things which people need the most. I went on a trip to the Dominican Republic and we took a huge box of the little toys you get at McDonald's. The kids acted like it was Christmas. They don't know from XBoxes. -
