I don't think so and one of the main reasons is that those who are in charge seems to have no interest in promoting it.
Very few events and no results were achieved here.
Waste of time opening an event here since nobody understand what Bloggers Unite is and what is the range it can approach.

I'm new here so what you say may be true. The question is, what can we do about it?
How about crowd-sourcing some challenges that require an answer and using this to draw in more people?

I can't see why Bloggers Unite cannot have the same features as Blog Catalog and therefore a broadcast capacity. There should also be a RSS capability with the Participating Blogs section so that we can get the word out better about a particular event and issues related to it.

Your absolutely right about the unrealized capacity of this.

What I don't understand is that we are dealing with Bloggers and sponsors:
    Amnesty International
    Aids.gov
    BlogCatalog
    Refugees United
    National Institute on Drug Abuse
    IZEA
    Copywrite Ink.
    March of Dimes
    Half Hour Meals

If these organizations are not strong enough to promote Bloggers Unite I don't know who can do it.

It's not that they aren't. This thing is going to take off. It's a matter of focus and my focus has been on redoing blogcatalog. The new blogcatalog will launch in the next 2 weeks. I am now turning full attention and focus on bu. We will be redeveloping the site to make it have much more of an impact.

Maybe a larger team could be of use here.

I don't know what to think of Bloggers Unite reading that event "The International Day in memory of SSRI Fatalities" that I created
    www.bloggersunite.org/event/international-day-in-memory-of-ssri-fatalities
has disappeared from Blogger Unite list -the address above must be in Googles cache -
At least that is what TonyB informed me at the topic of discussion about this event. He also suggested me to "create it".
    Thank you
