A friend of mine, Kevin McKeever at Always Home and Uncool is sponsoring a blog day to raise awareness of Juvenile Myositis [JM], a disease his own daughter has been fighting for several years. JM afflicts thousands of kids in the United States every year. It is an autoimmune disease that 'tricks' the body's immune response to fight against a child's own healthy cells. Kids with JM can have a range of symptoms, from persistent pain, fever and fatigue to complete muscular degeneration. We're hoping that you'll join us Oct. 2 to blog about JM. The more people we can teach about the disease and the courageous kids who are fighting it, the better.
