1. When I contacted via the contact email (in the footer) the email returned undeliverable. That is awful. Sorry. But usually scam sites do that. I know this is not one. So I think it would be smart to fix it or not have it at all.
2. Pagination is broken on search, browse, etc. It returns 404 errors.
3. There should be group organized events. Because it doesn't make sense for a person who has nothing to do with the official event to be the only moderator of an event. OR-- Maybe, an OFFICIAL badge on events organized by the official organizer vs. none on a non-official event.
4. I think ADDING events shouldn't automatically subscribe to an event. I would add hundreds of events, but I don't want to have to agree to do them all. Maybe have a feature where people could ADOPT an event that doesn't have a moderator. That way people can add events that end up in an adoption center. So the events end up on the calendar even though nobody has signed up yet.
5. RSS feeds for "Have an article for this event? Submit it" Maybe not just subscribing to comments, but subscribing to blog submissions for the event!
6. It would be cool if the PROFILE could list multiple blogs. Not everyone is a member of blog catalog either. Maybe profile should link to multiple social networks.
7. I think it's great that there are SPONSORS but it might be smart to keep them less obvious (maybe in the footer only). btw: the sponsor email is broken.
8. Where are things like Terms of Use, Privacy policy, comment policy, etc. If these are related to blogcatalog, maybe a link that explains that those terms cross apply.
9. How about a referral/invite a friend link? WHat about other viral promotion options for profiles.
10. How about the ability to PRIVATELY support an event so they don't show up on a profile and the link doesn't show up on the event. Maybe a generic logo expressing # of anonymous bloggers supporting.
11. What about recurring events?
12. Some events should be here I don't see: Blog Action Day, No CSS Day, etc. I don't see these. I don't add them because I feel wrong adding another organization's event.
13. How about a system where the community can get points for referring people or organizations to add their events? These points can be used for virtually purchasing features like (a) highlighting an event (b) submitting for home page space (c) cooler virtual stickers/badges... etc. maybe a donate points feature so within the community people can offer points to other members so they can get enough to use additional features. The features should be cool and frivolous but not necessary to the extent that people with more points dominate the site.
14. Non-charitable causes/events: there are non-charitable causes people have. I know these can be added like any other event and I think that is awesome. However, it might be cool to have a way to discern which events are charitable and which are not.
Just some ideas. Not complaining but I thought I should offer.
