I don't have any bright ideas about what can be done to help because meddling into the political affairs of foreign countries can have negative affects on the very people we aim to help ie. those who are protesting the "rigged" election. However, I will write a post about the lack of basic human rights and freedoms on Monday.

Edit: I will also put a badge in my blog right now.

I understand your view point about "meddling" however I grew up in South Africa and recognize the vital role that citizens of the world can play when they raise their voices and protest against oppressive regimes, such as the one in apartheid South Africa.

I thought some of the possible goals listed for the group were good ones. Maybe we can't do much but anything to raise awareness will help. (Posted about Iran's photoshopping Thursday, I should have waited!)

I will get something together for tomorrow for sure. If things keep developing, how about we do it again in one week? Maybe it'll give more time for people to join.

Make the world aware of the true issue over there by writing articles about Human violations that is happening in IRAN.

It also saddened me about a young woman named "NEDA' who succumbed to a chess gunshot wound. May he rest in peace.

Tony and group, I have been busy trying to find work (I lost my job of 27 years) so I admit I have been lax about posting. I will do a post in the next day or so extolling the virtues of standing together with one voice. United we stand for others who fall.

there was a time when hatred compelled us to go for liberation of IRAQ, now all civilized people kno what have e got in return. before that e had scrapped the elections in algeria where islamist has defeated western parties in election. all the mistakes made in afghanistan etc are staring at us. on one side we declare ourselves champions of human rights but at the same time women who wants to wear VEIL in france and elsewhere are deneid their democratic rights. despots like in saudia, Egypt, pakistan are supported in mellions of dollars. while democratic movements like Hamas etc are crushed. i am not taking any sides. I AM HINDU and a Lesbian. i have nothing to gain or loose in this Zionist backed Clash of civilization. but my heart bleeds that poor fellows, innocent great people of western civiliaion are befooled by this Zionist led propaganda. MEDIA is to blamed for all this hatred and misery as it is controlled by Zionist

We Iranian people must realize that Islamic Republic of Iran is the second Jihad in the history of our nation. This time just like the last time, non Iranians were brought in to kill, rape, murder, beat, imprison our fellow men, women and children. We need to support a government that is behind a FREE IRAN with liberty, freedom and human rights for all. It is ironic that Cyrus the Great wrote the first declaration of human rights and his children are being demolished under the tyrant Islamic Republic.

For goodness sake. Twitter unite day has more members. I think Since Michael Jackson usurped the media that bloggers should start today and not wait for tomorrow. And, I think it's important that Iranians blog about what they think or want. Did Obama really drop the ball here, was it the press's bad behaviour? Do martyrs need love and press coverage too? What's going on here and who the hell thinks that M. Jackson is more interesting. I truly don't.

It isnt about being against him. It is being for the people in the streets who want their voices heard.
