Banned Books Week
http://www.ala.org/ala/issuesa…
Defend intellectual freedom and 1st Amendment rights. Fight censorship, the oppression of ideas, and the banning of books!
Banned Books Week is held during the last week of September each year, and has been since 1982. This event celebrates the freedom of the individual to have and express opinions, regardless of how unpopular or different those opinions are. Banned Books Week promotes and defends intellectual freedom by drawing attention to banned and frequently challenged books and the ideas contained in them. Blog about your favorite banned or frequently challenged book, defend your intellectual freedom, and spread the word about the right to read and share information!
