BloggersUnite for Haiti: Numbers Growing

1/16/10

by: jteitelman

So we're up to about 120 bloggers so far on this event and many have left great comments and links to some very good posts. It's a busy weekend and I do not have time to comment on each post and comment like I would like to so I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who have contributed to this page. It is amazing to see bloggers using their sites to promote giving and aid for people in need.

Each one of you is making a difference by taking time to share your personal feelings about the tragedy in Haiti and encouraging others to follow your example and donate to aid organizations. The recovery in Haiti will be difficult and will take time and although most of us can not be on the ground helping, we can continue to use our sites as a source of information and reminders that the people of Haiti desperately need help. Lives need to be saved and you are doing your part by doing what you can to get aid to the people in need.

So, from BloggersUnite and BlogCatalog...thank you. Thank you for taking the time to join this page, but more so for being good people and using your blogs to help those in need.

Thanks for Bloggers Unite website. It is great to be able to use our voice to the world through our blogs to get the word out about the causes we choose to support. Sometimes we feel so helpless and it is difficult to believe that one small voice can make a difference. It helps me to be able to write to express my feelings about the events I participate in whether or not anyone actually takes the time to read what I have to say.

I hope that through your blogs and suggestions and my writing the world can become a better place for everyone.

I think you have a lot of people to give info or set up events. I would like to add my own experience. At one time, I had many Haitian students, and I'd like to talk about their feelings for their country, attitude towards life, etc. I think this will lend an understanding about Haitian culture so that people can see they aren't as different as we may think. That ok with you? It's all good.
