To raise awareness and funds for groups who provide support and services to people with disabilities.

Soon, Morgan's Wonderland--the world's first ultra accessible family fun park--will be opening in BlogCatalog's hometown of San Antonio, TX. The park's missions is "to set a new standard for excellence in providing outdoor recreational opportunities for individuals with disabilities. [And, to provide] a special place for special people, one that provides an oasis for people with disabilities, their families and caregivers who need facilities specifically designed to assist them in enjoying outdoor activities." In recognition of the opening of Morgan's Wonderland here in San Antonio, BlogCatalog is asking bloggers from around the world to raise awareness about individuals and/or groups that provide support and services to all of our friends with special needs. We would love to hear about how a specific group has helped you, a family member or a friend deal with a disability; how people can volunteer their services to these groups; and how people can help raise funds to ensure that these groups can continue helping people long into the future.

BlogCatalog and BloggersUnite will be working to raise funds to help send children and families who may not be able to afford the trip to San Antonio to Morgan's Wonderland. At this time, we are still working out all the details and figuring out the best way to make our mission a reality. We will update this page with more information as soon as these details have been worked out and we are ready to start raising funds.

So, get blogging. This event is not restricted to the event date. We would like bloggers to start blogging, raising awareness, raising funds or whatever else you're inspired to do right away.
