Earth Hour 2010 ?
Earth Hour 2010 is 27 March 2010 (Earth Hour is always the last Saturday in March)
I do not see an Earth Hour 2010 event yet, and my attempt to create one was denied. Hmmm. But I persist!
An Earth Hour 2010 goal has been established on the goal oriented website 43things.com : www.43things.com/things/view/2483045/illuminate-awareness-of-climate-change... for those who might be interested.
Cheers

Earth Hour All Year Round
I have been writing about Earth Hour since the last Earth Hour.
Earth Hour 2010 will take place on 27 March 2010. So, starting with 27 April 2009, and continuing every month until Earth Hour I will be counting down the months both on my blog and my company blog.
Pictures of the before and afters of world monuments will be included, as well as tips and ideas to make Earth Hour a fun occassion for people everywhere. Links, lots of links, to organizations that participated in Earth Hour 2009 will also be included - these will be anything from local restaurant associations, to sports clubs, to churches.
I am very hopeful that Earth Hour will finally be recognized in the United States in 2009, with 2010 being even bigger (or is darker more appropriate). It is my understanding that both the White House and the Capitol Building will go dark tomorrow evening (oh how I love the Obamas).
So here's to establishing my goal of blogging for Earth Hour 2010!

Pinoy Support
Hope the Philippines and people here in Davao get on in the action too! Pinoy bloggers, we should!

Vote Earth
I've added a huge banner about Earth Hour, which I found through this site: www.voteearth2009.org/home/
I joined last year's Earth Hour and that one hour was time well spent not only for the planet but for me and my mom. We spent the hour talking in the living in the dark.. It was really a memorable time for me, sharing my thoughts with her about what is happening today in all aspects of life and society, especially pressing matters such as environmental issues.
"Treat the Earth well. It was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children. We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors, we borrow it from our Children."
~ Ancient Indian Proverb

What We Bloggers Can Do For the Earth Hour
One very simple practice you and I could do is avoiding late night blogging. Do not sacrifice your precious sleeping time to blog. What for? I am not going to read your blog at this hour. By turning off lights and going to bed before 2300 every night could help to reduce carbon footprints. And it is good for your health too!

The Earth Hour to Earth Day Challenge
The cool folk at Cool People Care have issued the Earth Hour to Earth Day Challenge. Between Earth Hour on March 28th and Earth Day on April 22nd they're challenging us to do one thing each day that educates someone else as to the very green changes they could make in their life.
Find out more about it at: www.coolpeoplecare.org/about/eh2ed/

It's coming to America
word on the street is that most of the major monuments in Washington DC will go dark for the hour; I am thinking of heading to the Hudson River to watch Manhattan go dark ... last year was a start for us in the states - let's see how dark we can make Earth Hour 2009!

Earth Hour

1 billion people worldwide will turn off their lights for one hour, from 20h00, for Earth Hour 2009.
On 28 March 09 the movement is hoping that a total of 1 billion people worldwide will turn off their lights for one hour, from 20h00 to 21h00 (SA time), for Earth Hour 2009, a global event using mass action to campaign against global warming and climate change. Earth Hour is not about saving electricity. According to the official website, βitβs much broader than that β it is a symbolic action to show governments that the people of the world want an effective global climate deal at the end of 2009.β
