1 billion people worldwide will turn off their lights for one hour, from 20h00, for Earth Hour 2009.
On 28 March 09 the movement is hoping that a total of 1 billion people worldwide will turn off their lights for one hour, from 20h00 to 21h00 (SA time), for Earth Hour 2009, a global event using mass action to campaign against global warming and climate change. Earth Hour is not about saving electricity. word on the street is that most of the major monuments in Washington DC will go dark for the hour; I am thinking of heading to the Hudson River to watch Manhattan go dark ... last year was a start for us in the states - let's see how dark we can make Earth Hour 2009!
