Free All Those Imprisoned for Protesting/Blogging/etc Recently in Iran Immediately!
July 10, 2009
Objective:
The prisoners' families are worried for them and most of them have no news about their conditions...
As an Iranian student currently living in Tehran, I feel obliged to ask those on Bloggers Unite (and possibly everyone who cares about human rights) to dedicate sometime to ask our government to free all those imprisoned for demonstrating, blogging about the unfair outcome of Iran's 10th Presidential Elections, writers, journalists and many students who simply took their words out on the streets of Tehran, immediately! It's time to get the UN peace envoys involved too!
My classmate was only just released from prison. He was not in good condition to tell the full story of what happened to him. His only crime was to speak against the injustice of the government with many more students. As Mousavi has said, "it's our absolute right to express our concern about this huge electoral fraud and demonstrate peacefully." According to the Iranian Justice Law, peaceful demonstrations are NOT illegal and should UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES be treated with violence (Iranian Law Act Number 27).
Thanks to all of you who remain to show your concern,
Peace.
