Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Pride Month

June 30, 2010

Objective:
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month honors LGBT people and promotes equality.

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month recognizes the contributions of LGBT people. It is a good time to blog about LGBT people and the ongoing need for equal rights.

LGBT Pride month is celebrated with pride parades, memorials for those lost from hate crimes as well as HIV and AIDS, and other group gathering events that attract thousands upon thousands of individuals. U.S. President Barack Obama declared June 2010 to be Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month, stating, “I call upon all Americans to observe this month by fighting prejudice and discrimination in their own lives and everywhere it exists.”

The rainbow flag stands for LGBT pride, symbolizing the beauty of diversity.

Hi Breathing Soul,

I’m eager to read your “feisty” post of LGBT Pride. Please submit the URL link to your blog so we can find it!

Here’s how: Go to the LGBT Pride Month page. Under “participating blogs,” it says, “Have an article for this event?” Click on “submit it” and fill in the info. Then click “submit post.”

Please add your blog to your profile, too.

Thanks,

Kitt

by: KittKatt

Feel free to do your LGBT Pride post anytime in June. I had to choose a single date when I set this up, so I chose June 30, but the celebration lasts all month long.
