To provide an opportunity to MAKE NOISE to impact the United Nations' Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) Review Summit up to and during September 17th-19th
Stand Up Take Action End Poverty (SUTA) in cooperation with the EndPoverty2015 Millennium Campaign are organizing for Stand Up 2010 which is to take place over three days beginning Friday September 17th till Sunday 19th. On September 18th, 2010 there will be One Day of Unified Global Action: When people around the world can Make a Noise for the MDGs! in anticipation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) Review Summit, a High-level Plenary Meeting the General Assembly of the United Nations to be held on 20-22 September 2010, in New York. Adopting an idea that came out of the Africa Campaigners Retreat held in Malawi, throughout the day on the 18th, we will “Make Noise for the MDGs!” encouraging people all over the world to take part in a common global action which is designed to grab public, political and media attention and to make sure that the global movement in support of the MDGs is seen and heard in every corner of the globe. Last year Bloggers Unite for Stand Up Take Action End Poverty Now! was part of an online effort that was part of the larger effort in which 173,045,325 people Stood Up to End Poverty according to the Guinness Book of World Records. The objective is to do that again but more and better for submittal to make a lot MAKE NOISE campaign. This year Bloggers can start MAKING NOISE starting now leading up to the MDG summit. The MDG Review Summit also offers us as MDG Campaigners (and Bloggers) , a unique opportunity to leverage and even influence the political and media focus surrounding the lead up to the United Nations' MDGs Review Summit and the Summit itself. By moving Stand Up forward to the weekend before the Summit allows us to drive our activities throughout the year towards a high-profile Stand Up mobilization with a direct link to and with the specific intention of impacting on the proceedings at the Summit itself. This Blogger Unite site encourages everyone interested in any or all of the United Nations' Eight Goal of the Millennium Campaign. 1. End Hunger 2. Universal Education 3. Gender Equity 4. Child Health 5. Maternal Health 6. Combat HIV/AIDS and other diseases 7. Environmental Sustainability 8. Global Partnership to write about them. Bloggers make noise not by volume but by the impact of their written words. Submitted posts can be from stories of struggle from the heart or analytical studies offering possible solutions or both. SUTA also tells us that the MAKE NOISE campaign, will also allow us to focus our activities and work in 2010 towards a specific policy moment and to articulate clear and relevant policy demands based on what we want our various governments and delegations to do leading up to the Summit and what we expect them to achieve at the Summit itself." By asking Bloggers across the globe to submit ideas from one part of the planet could help another, solutions in one arena could impact another or the impact of one goal on another goal such as environmental sustainability and ending poverty. There is some additional information below at resources and a good deal more at the link just below this sites event name which is a Grou.ps site also dedicated to MAKE NOISE Campaign. Please also join the Grou.ps page and it your blog is dedicated to one of the areas covered by the eight goals you will have another avenue of dissemination.

2010 is an important milestone year in working to End Poverty in 2015. The United Nations will meet this coming September to assess their progress (or lack of) and between now and then is a best chance for bloggers to make some NOISE in support of the Millennium Development Goals. One of the most important contributions bloggers can make is to education. You can educate others about what the Millennium Goals are trying to achieve. You can choose any of the issues being addressed by the Millennium Development Goals or the Millennium Challenges and write about their impact on the world. You can also write about solutions to these problems to forward to the United Nations as a part a "MDG Breakthrough Plan".
