Run and Rally to Stop the Silence
April 19, 2009
Objective:
Child sexual abuse (CSA) is a silent epidemic throughout the United States and the world. We need to raise awareness and stop the silence.
Child sexual abuse (CSA) is a silent epidemic throughout the United States and the world, creating social havoc - for the children, adult survivors, and society. It can be prevented and it can be treated, but a conscious and sustained effort is both missing and essential.
On April 19, 2009, we are holding the Run and Rally to Stop the Silence –
And we'd like you all to come! This 6th Annual Event - the Race, Run and Rally to Stop the Silence - will be held from 8:00 am to approximately 12:00 am on Sunday, April 19, 2009 in West Potomac Park in Washington DC.

4/14/09 You don't have to Run or go to DC to support this!

I want us all to blog and post links to the website: www.stopcsa.org/Race/.
Let's all blog, Tweet, update with whatever social networking tools we have to raise awareness about this event. It won't hurt to go to the website and donate any amount that we can each afford, either!
The important thing is to stop the silence to break the cycle of child sexual abuse. It perpetuates in our shame and discomfort in talking about it. So, let's raise awareness however we can!
