World Hardship2Ease Day Annual Objective: To help bring ease after hardship to people suffering around the world, by sharing stories and raising money for chari
"Stop Self-Harm Day, on 23rd September 2010, will be a day for hope. On this day, people from around the world will try and help put an end to self-harm. It affects a tragic number of people around the world, and in many cases even leads to suicide. This needs to be prevented. It CAN be prevented, and we will try to be the ones preventing it on this day together. Experts estimate that 4% of the population struggle with self-injury, so that's roughly 267,890,162 throughout the world. We CAN help. We can make a difference. Speak about it together, on one day. Blog it, Tweet it, FB it etc. Together, we can end self-harm and give hope to millions, Inshallah (God-willing). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Each year, on the 23rd of September it is 'Hardship2ease Day'.
23rd September 2010 is the date for the 2nd World Hardship2ease Day.
This years theme: Stop Self-harm Day.
In the first year (2009) only 2 people participated. Hopefully, for 2010 many people will unite around the world-for one day, to help someone in need.
2009's Hardship2ease theme was: to help someone in need...it was a general thing and not a new idea. It was an act of kindness, by sharing stories, you can touch people's hearts worldwide.
2010's theme is yet undecided. The voting has now begun to set the theme. (TO VOTE GO TO afterhardshipwillalwayscomeease.wordpress.com/2009/09/23/hardship...) The themes include-'suicide prevention', 'stop self harming', 'I'm depressed' etc.
The idea is that on the day, everyone participating will unite to help people in need. This will be done through sharing stories and also raising money for certain charities.
The stories are split into 2 main categories: The posts (which will be blogged) are titled-
1. 'AHWACE': This stands for 'after hardship will always come ease'. So the stories will be published online with a title such as "AHWACE story 13-Young girl, self harmer, needs help”
The other category is-
2. ‘HARDSHIP2EASE’: These stories are inspirational and will have titles such as “HARDSIP2EASE story 14-English boy, 17 years old, is schizophrenic and was suicidal, but now his life has changed for the better.” Basically, these stories are about people whose lives went from hardship to ease.
Hopefully, I will list many charities and at the end you guys can tell us how much you raised. Just donate to the charity and send in your comments or blog about it.
So, the 3 main things which will happen on the day:
1.Hardship2ease stories
2.AHWACE stories
3.Raise money for charities
Please note, that through out the year every single day, the things which I have mentioned will be happening on the blog. However, on the Hardship2ease Day, the difference is that hopefully many people across the world will come together to blog about a specific theme for a whole day. Also, this event shall hopefully be kept updated through the process, to tell you what the theme will be and other things such as badges etc.
