Fulfilment Is For Everyone
If fulfilment without harm was a purpose we all understood and shared we wouldn’t try to get one over on others, we would compete fairly and distribute opportunity evenly so that everyone can achieve. That way we all grow.

The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is celebrated every year on October 17 throughout the world. It was officially recognised by the United Nations in 1992, but the first commemoration of the event took place in Paris, France, in 1987 when 100,000 people gathered on the Human Rights and Liberties Plaza at the Trocadéro to honour victims of poverty, hunger, violence and fear.

Quite true,
One-upmanship is the very essence of evil in so far as one man or nation tries to seize glory by diminishing his fellow man. From the bedroom to the killing fields this is what is going on. As for 'inequality' - the eradication of poverty is dependent on that decommissioning of that most legally sanctioned of 'human' rights - GREED. Tolstoy reckoned that evil could be eradicated by doing good for evil. By that I understand ATONEMENT. When individuals and nations atone publicly for the evil they perpetrate on others there may be hope. When when it becomes the norm to invade other countries and subdue them on the grounds that it is morally right to negate to rights of others because you have more fire power than them, then we are in treacherous waters indeed. A sane society, when all is said and done, should have a cap on the amount of wealth any individual can accumulate. The insane asylums would fill overnight but the sane outside the walls would have a better life. You can only eat so much and sleep in one bed and all the money in the world is not going to buy you a conscience if you have already sold it to the devil.

I will write an entry on my blog about this event. I came from poverty and was eradicated out of it with the help of people who are not related to me in any way. It's the mission of my high school alma matter, the Sisters of Mary founded by Fr. Aloysius Schwartz. I tell you more on my blog.
