Veterans Day: Who Will Stand is a Bloggers Unite event that asks bloggers to help raise awareness and funds for various nonprofit organizations that support U.S. Veterans that have returned from service with physical and/or psychological scars. The Soldier’s Project, thesoldiersproject.org Defending Freedom, www.defendingfreedom.net Canines for Combat Wounded, www.caninesforcombatwounded.org Blue Star Mothers, www.bluestarmothers.org Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org These nonprofit organizations were all included in the independent documentary, Who Will Stand, which will be featured at a special Veterans Day screening in Las Vegas on November 11, 2009. The film originally premiered at the Cinema City International Film Festival in 2009. According to Military Medicine magazine, 46.5 percent of solders with PTSD have suicidal thoughts, and 33.5 percent have tried to commit suicide. Please remember our Veterans on Veterans Day. November 11, 2009.
