Volunteer Recognition Day

Objective:
Honor volunteers and encourage more people to volunteer.

Volunteer labor supports many clubs, charities, and nonprofit organizations. Some businesses use a combination of paid and volunteer staff. It's a major part of our economy, but we rarely pay attention to it.

Volunteer Recognition Day focuses attention on the volunteer labor force. It honors people who volunteer their time for worthy causes. It encourages more people to volunteer if they haven't already done so. It's also a good time to make a donation to organizations that run on volunteer labor.
