I hope all countries support the World AIDS Day and it's mission. There are still some Catholic countries who prevent the use of condoms and other protective tools to eliminate AIDS victims. I hope people will realize that AIDS is already here and all we can do is to prevent it from spreading. I'm sure God is also in favor with the aims of the World AIDS Day.

Just last month I got to see first-hand the devastation HIV causes to the children of Tanzania. It resulted in this post: http://www.healthyhoustonkids.com/

The doctor pictured is Cecily Wait, a young U.S. doctor working to help the HIV+ children of Tanzania and teaching local health professionals how to deal with the crisis that is HIV/AIDS. Cecily works for BIPAI.

You can learn more about BIPAI at www.bayloraids.org. The program cares for 80,000 HIV+ children across Africa, Romania and the U.S. It is program of Baylor College of Medicine which is completely secular, not Baylor University.

Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infections in India has declined drastically in recent years — from 5.5 million in 2005 to below 2.5 million in 2007 and in India, every year approximately 2000 people killed by HIV infection. And around 124 thousand NGOs are working for AIDS awareness; means on a single death 62 NGOs are working and AIDS budget per year is approximately 380 hundred thousand thousand rupees that is 19 hundred thousand rupees per death.

Where as cancer is spreading much larger speed every year 2 hundred thousand people killed due to cancer and each death 3896 rupees are spend. You know what the game behind this?
If your answer is “No” then

its Ok.

Its all is the game of making money folks only for money.

Let me explain,

You know, every year India got hundreds of thousands of thousand rupees for AIDS awareness and cure, most of amount are came from USA, Europe or WHO (World Health Organization) ok,

They told to use condom for safe and healthy relation, you know how much cost it is? it is around 8-10 rupees, and it is too large its market to sell and earn big money.

So in one hand they are paying money as charity in another hand they grab all money by selling condoms and medicine.

Why? Government spend so much money for HIV? I think it is only to happy some medic-tycoon how are sitting in US assembly.
They create havoc for AIDS and earning huge money through it.

When my cousin Vic died from AIDS, he looked ancient and skeletal. I still have nightmares. He was a kind and loving person who is greatly missed.

Until this happened in my own family, the closest AIDS had gotten to me was the articles I wrote for the newspaper. When it's that far from you, it doesn't have an effect on you.

Since his death, however, I've followed treatments and research in the news and now I blog in events like this in hopes of raising the awareness of others.

I feel the pain of losing him will not be soothed until I know that no other family will have to endure this. Yes, I understand this is unlikely but I must continue to hope and pray nonetheless.

I wold like to take this opportunity to share my World AIDS Day post (Confessions of an HIV Positive: http://www.angsawariko.com/2009/12/confessions-of-hiv-positive.html ) we all know that AIDS along with malaria and other diseases is one of the important issues in the world as stated in UN Millennium Development Goals where AIDS and other diseases lands on number 6 (Combat AIDS, Malaria and other diseases). My post is about the present scenario of AIDS/HIV in world where UNAIDS reported that as of 2007 it is roughly 33 -33.4 Million in the worlds population is HIV positive and still living, but those digits are cases that are only reported and undergo HIV test. Here in the Philippines we have rough estimation of 3,911 living and reported cases of HIV as of May 2009 by National Epidemiology Center. Unsafe sex is recorded as 89% and discussed as the major contributor of transmission in the National Epidemiology Center data and since 2007, 72 % of new cases were males who got infected from having sex with other females here in the Philippines. The peek age bracket for males is 25-29 years old as first from the chart followed by 30-34 years old and 20-24 years old is ranked as third.

I had opportunity to have an HIV positive friend to discuss his situation and what he is doing right now, as reported by UNAIDS that the infection cases reduces to 17%, it may be a good news but it doesn't mean we should be lax instead let's continue our battle against AIDS and other diseases and support UN MDG for 2015.

If a picture says a thousand words, how much would a picture of you wearing a red ribbon and holding a sign that says you're "Facing AIDS for World AIDS Day" say? Could it help end stigma? Promote HIV testing? We think so - and we need your help.

World AIDS Day, December 1, is an opportunity for us to work together to help reduce stigma around HIV and promote HIV Testing—here’s how you can join us in Facing AIDS in 3 easy steps:

1. Take a Photo
* Download a Facing AIDS sign from http://www.aids.gov/pdf/facing_aids_sign.pdf and tell us why you are Facing AIDS.
* Then take a photo of yourself wearing a red ribbon with your sign.
* Upload it to our Flickr group: http://www.aids.gov/pdf/facing_aids_sign.pdf

2. Change your Social Network Profile Status and picture. On December 1 change your social network profile picture to your Facing AIDS photo and your profile status to:
“[Your Name] is Facing AIDS for World AIDS Day. To find an HIV test site, text your ZIP to “KNOWIT” (566948), or visit www.HIVtest.org. Join me and post this to your status today.”

3. Share
* Ask your family, friends, and colleagues to join the Campaign—here’s a flyer you can share: http://www.aids.gov/pdf/facing_aids_sign.pdf

One Life Revolution (OLR) is an interactive experience that allows people to ‘walk in the shoes’ of others who have suffered the plight of social injustice. The life-size exhibition gives people the opportunity to come in direct contact with someone else’s life as they struggle to cope with HIV/AIDS and living in harsh conditions prone to child trafficking.
