Objective:
To raise awareness of the plight of orphans and displaced children around the world.

The pandemic of homeless and orphaned children is exponentially growing, leaving 145 million children orphaned or displaced globally. 143 million children are suffering from malnutrition, and 400 thousand of those will die this year. HIV and AIDS is devastating global communities and millions are facing the horror of war and abuse EVERY day.

All of these things mean that every TWO SECONDS another child is orphaned.

World Orphans Day is November 8th, 2010. The second Monday in November is observed each year to raise awareness of the plight of orphans and displaced children around the world. To commemorate and strengthen the ideals of humanitarian goodwill towards these children, global non –governmental organizations, humanitarian aid organizations, civic groups, and individuals are asked to observe World Orphans Day in their own diverse, effective way.
