"NO WOMAN SHOULD DIE GIVING BIRTH"

7/11/10

by: WERI2011

This has been the century of change. Population has exploded, the colonial era has been outgrown and there have been astonishing increases in life expectancy. Yet, as the century ends, a few countries dominate the world economy in their own interest, just as they did in 1900. And while the quality of life for the majority has improved, the gulf between rich and poor, overfed and undernourished, is widening with every passing year.

I am living in the Philippines where population control is a huge problem. Being Asia's largest Catholic nation, government cannot openly promote the use of artificial birth control measures as it is frowned upon by the Church.

Everyone should have the right and materials to control their own reproduction as they see fit. I've written two posts for World Population Day that touch on this aspect:

I'm HERE, to make as MANY international contacts, as I'm able. To get the
bulk of humanity MOVED off-world, so WE can work to RESTORE the garden.

Which is the reason, I BELIEVE that starvation is such a GLOBAL problem! It's MY FIRM belief, that if WE don't do 2 things, then we'll DIE here! FIRSTLY,
we need to take control of the nuclear reaction we're orbiting, and secondly.
WE ALL need to work on DEtoxifying OUR planet, it's getting close. OUR rain in some regions, is ALREADY acidic. It's justr a SMALL step toward EXTINCTION!

  • World Population Day

    http://www.unfpa.org/wpd/

World Population Day is an annual event, observed on July 11, which seeks to raise awareness of global population issues.

In 1968, world leaders proclaimed that individuals have a basic human right to determine freely and responsibly the number and timing of their children. Forty years later, modern contraception remains out of reach for hundreds of millions of women, men and young people. World Population Day 2008 reaffirmed the right of people to plan their families. It encouraged activities, events and information that will help make this right real — especially for those who often have the hardest time getting the information and services they need to plan their families, such as marginalized populations and young people. When people can plan their families, they can plan their lives. They can plan to beat poverty. They can plan on healthier mothers and children. They can plan to gain equality for women. Plan to support World Population Day this year!
