World TB day is celebrated again this year on March 24. There is a call for people every where to join together in a 'Stop TB' campaign.

The theme this year is: On The move Against Tuberculosis.

World TB Day is a worldwide call to action and a means to mobilize political and social commitment. This yearly event offers an unparalleled opportunity for you to raise awareness about the burden of TB in your community or country.


World TB Day raises awareness about the global epidemic of tuberculosis (TB) and efforts to eliminate the disease. One-third of the world's population is currently infected with TB. The Stop TB Partnership, a network of organizations and countries fighting TB, organizes the Day to highlight the scope of the disease and how to prevent and cure it.

The annual event on 24 March marks the day in 1882 when Dr Robert Koch detected the cause of tuberculosis, the TB bacillus. This was a first step towards diagnosing and curing tuberculosis. WHO is working to cut TB prevalence rates and deaths by half by 2015.


It is hoped that all people involved in national tuberculosis control programs, civil society groups engaged in fighting TB, TB-affected communities and other groups working to stop TB will engage in World TB Day activities (WHO, 2010)

We are asking bloggers to join in the fight to stop TB by engaging in World TB Day activities at Bloggers Unite.

Bloggers can write about the the plan to stop TB, their own experiences or what is being done n their countries.

Everyone is invited to upload news about upcoming events, photos, posters, stories and other materials they have prepared for World TB Day on the World TB Day Blog.

Im thankful to be a part of this event.. i was a TB patient before and i painstakingly was able to finish my treatment regimen. It was really hard taking those medications. Lets support this noble cause.

Welcome to World TB Day 2009. This day is celebrated on March 24 every year.

World Health Organization is sponsoring this health event and is calling on as many as possible to join together to stop TB.

As the createor of this event , I am looking for as many as possible globally, to get involved.
