I Am A Mother Of An Autistic Son
For twenty-four years I have been the caregiver of my son diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, high functioning Autism. I have been his advocate to help him succeed as best as he can in a world where he's considered unique. I've shed plenty of tears, sobbed buckets of frustration, loved endlessly, and laughed for relief. My entire family has been affected by their involvement with Autism. It's wonderful that we are sharing our experiences today. I've seen so many changes since my son was initially diagnosed, when Asperger's Syndrome was a wod that meant, "no hope, no help." Let's keep talking and pray for a definitive cause and cure, hopefully in my son's lifetime.
I'm also a writer and have written an essay about my son's autism in two wonderful books of support titled, "Voices of Autism," and, "Voices of Caregiving," by LaChance Publishing. They include personal stories from caregivers and people diagnosed with Autism. You can find information about these books at www.thehealingproject.org

Stop The Violence! Respect Each Other!

Hello I am a writer and also a survivor of abuse. I blog on my websites about this subject inflicting our world. I grew up in a home with domestic violence and child abuse inflicted by my recently deceased father's hands. He never took responsibility for his actions and threatened us with forced silence. "What happens behind closed doors remains behind closed doors." As an adult I refused to keep his forced vow of silence. I have done a video about a woman involved in a domestic violence situation on, You Tube, in order to make the world aware and help just one woman to break free from their abuser. The link is below:
